About the Design

Created by Nathan M. James, each “Movement is Freedom” design captures the essence of our mission. This mantra represents the intersection of past and present – celebrating our Black ancestors’ courageous pursuit of self-determination and their right to move freely, while honoring our modern community’s commitment to education through the joy of cycling. The design incorporates the Haskell House in the background, along with a person on a bike with their arms spread wide like they are flying.

When we ride together, we honor the freedom they fought for. When we share stories, we keep their legacy alive.
